    The Indian FMCG and telecom sector is the fourth largest sector in the economy. With a local market size in excess of us$ 13.1 billion. It has a strong MNC presence and is characterized by a well established distribution network, intense competition between the organized and unorganized segments. There are so many Indian and multinational companies functioning in India and their network are spread all over India. All these companies sell their product in the market through their local distributors in India. With the recent statistic available there are about seven thousand distributors involved into FMCG and telecom trade sector once upon a time companies used to offer minimum 12 to 15 percent margin to distributors but slowly and gradually it is reduced and now it is 5 percent standard . Some companies even come down up to 1.77 percent. This has happened because the distributor’s community doesn’t have any body to control the unethical business practices adopted by most of the companies.



    Fast moving consumer goods segment occupies fourth largest segment in Indian economy. FMCG sector is known for good distribution network and a strong competition between organised and unorganised sector. Between the year 2000 to 2005, FMCG sector's performance was inconsistent in terms of sales and growth. Investors in FMCG did not gain at par with other booming sectors. After two years of slow down rate, 2006 onwards demand for FMCG goods has shown a marked increase with the rise in disposable income and booming economy, the urban consumers continued with their shopping spree.     Train travel to Goa

    As is with all public services in India, rail travel it seems is bursting at the seams due to the rising population. It is heavily subsidized by the government and is a very popular and economical means of transportation. With the completion of the 760kms Konkan Railway project that connects Mumbai to Mangalore; almost all of the coastal areas along the west coast are now accessible by train. The largest beneficiary has undoubtedly been Goa, but it was also here that the project met with most opposition, mostly for environmental reasons. Its large appeal lies in cutting down of travel time from Mumbai to Goa to under 10 hrs.
